Week 12 - May 20th - May 26th

Dear First Strides Challenger Crew - 

Reaching the finish line!
You're almost through the 12 week training schedule.  I hope you are proud of yourselves and in noticeably better shape than 11 weeks ago! 

Get-Together: For those of you who are willing and able, we look forward to seeing you tomorrow night, Wednesday, May 20th at 5:15pm at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex for a "social distancing" get-together to celebrate your accomplishment.  For those willing, we'll do an informal "Challenger Crew 5K Stride" (3.1 miles) for fun! Nothing formal or sanctioned.

If the weather is awful, we will postpone the get-together until next Wednesday night (May 27th), but I will make that decision very late in the afternoon by email, so watch your email.  We do want to have an opportunity to congratulate each other!

WEEK 12 WORKOUT (May 20 - May 26):  1 Easy; 10 Hard x 4 repetitions plus warmup and cool down.  3-5 days this week.  3 days or 4 days or 5 days count.

There will be one more email after May 26th to suggest some alternative programs going forward through the summer.  We hope this is a lifetime activity for you now!

ATTENDANCE CREDIT CHALLENGE:  For those of you able to complete our 3,4 or 5 homework sessions this past Week 11 (May 13 - 19), please REPLY to this email with the following sentence:

"(First & Last name) completed 3 (or 4 or 5, choose one) sessions in Week 11."

NOTE:  It's important that you send me this past Week 11's homework success as quickly as possible - before noon tomorrow, May 20th.

Our postponement to the Fall:  If you haven't responded to the choices you have about moving your workshop registration to the Fall workshop, you can find the options on www.FirstStridesNMB.com (until mid-June).  Or check your old email from 4/5/2020 at 1:26pm to respond.  Let us know your choice, when you know.

You all have done well to keep up the training program without the support of other Striders and our mentors.  That shows good discipline in this difficult time for our world.
