Dear First Striders,
Farewell to some - This will be the last weekly email to those of you that haven't been reporting your weekly homework. We don't want to be a bother. We will be sending out reminders starting late June or early July about our Fall First Strides NMB workshop. We will include you all then. Please do take care and be safe! Respect the summer heat when exercising! Think cooler time of day, shade and very easy pace, but it's good to keep active cautiously.
WEEK 9 WORKOUT (April 29 - May 5): 1 Easy minute; 5 Hard minutes x 6 repetitions. Always begin with the warmup and end with the cool down. 4 times this week!
Again, you do not need to add the 4th day. If you do, make it a 30-minute easy/recovery pace. Alternate your rest days with your workout days. Both 3-day or 4-day workouts count!
NOTE: Most of you seem to be incorporating the 4th day into your training week! Good job! Even though it is at an easy pace, that extra day will make you stronger. Thanks for letting me know.
ATTENDANCE CREDIT CHALLENGE: For those of you able to complete your 3 (or 4) homework sessions this past WEEK 8 (April 22-29), please REPLY to this email with the following sentence:
"(First & Last name) completed 3 (or 4, choose one) sessions in Week 8."
You're on the home stretch with 4 weeks remaining in the 12-week training program. We're proud of you all. Depending on "Social Distancing" guidelines, perhaps some of us can get together on Wednesday, May 20th @ 6pm and celebrate those able to complete 8-12 weeks homework. Maybe do a 5K (3.1 miles) Stride for yuks! Nothing sanctioned by the club or city but ... it would be fun, if you'd like. More on that later...
Let us know your choice regarding postponement: If you haven't responded to the choices about our postponement to the fall workshop session, you can find the options on www.FirstStridesNMB.com (until mid-June). Or find the original Postponement email (4/5/2020 1:26pm). Please let us know your choice, when you know.
We hope you and your families are well and safe.
We are thinking about you,
Jane and your mentors
