WEEK 6 - April 8th-14th

Dear First Striders,

As you know, we have officially postponed the First Strides Spring workshops and moved your Spring registrations to the Fall session (begins Sep 2).  You have options as described in the 4.5.20 e-mail.  Half of you have already responded. Thank you!

You don't have to decide immediately ... you can wait until you know your schedule.  We'll hold your place in the Fall 2020 Workshop (at not cost to you).  We will keep you informed on any changes.  

Presently, you can inform us of your choice through the original Postponment email (4/5/2020 1:26 pm).  It is also on our website until mid-June (estimate).  www.FirstStridesNMB.com.

As promised, for those of you who are continuing your homework (good for you!), I will provide weekly emails to keep you motivated through May 20th.  So here goes ... 

WEEK 6 WORKOUT (April 8-14):  3 Easy minutes; 4 Hard minutes x 4 repetitions.  Always begin with the 5 minute warmup and end with the 5 minute cooldown.  4 times this week!

Yup!  Our Training Schedule suggests adding an additional day to your "homework week".  You do not need to add the 4th day!  If you do, add (1) additional workout with NO "Easy/Hard".  Make it a 30 minute easy/recovery pace.  The extra day will help you improve more quickly.  Continue to take a day off between your 3 harder workouts.  Questions?  Please ask!  Both 3-day or 4-day workout will count as success next week!  

ATTENDANCE CREDIT CHALLENGE*:  For those of you able to complete our 3 homework sessions this past Week 5 (April 1-7), please REPLY to this email with the following sentence:

                                       "(First & Last name) completed 3 sessions in Week 5."

*NOTE:  If you have fallen off your "striding", when you can get back to it, start again at Week 1 and work up to Week 2 when you feel ready.  Getting out for easy striding every other day for 30 minutes is still great exercise!  Take care of yourself in these stressful times.  Remember to avoid the hottest times of the day.
